2012 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships Begin Tomorrow
(1/19/12) - The 2012 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships will be held Jan. 22-29, in San Jose, Calif., at HP Pavilion at San Jose. All competition will be held at HP Pavilion with practices taking place at the competition arena and Sharks Ice at San Jose.More than 250 figure skaters will compete at the novice, junior and senior levels for 12 U.S. titles in ladies, men's, pairs and ice dancing. Several members of the 2011 U.S. World Team are set to compete, including reigning U.S. champions Alissa Czisny (ladies) and Meryl Davis & Charlie White (ice dancing). Ryan Bradley, the 2011 U.S. men's champion, announced his retirement in May. Richard Dornbush and Ross Miner, the current U.S. silver and bronze medalists, respectively, will compete. Reigning pairs champion John Coughlin takes the ice with new partner Caydee Denney. He won last year's event with former partner Caitlin Yankowskas, while Denney is an Olympian with previous partner Jeremy Barrett.
