These races will include athletes in our Novice, Development, Junior, Senior and Master programs.
The Alberta Luge Association is a non-profit organization. The Association has been delivering the sport of Luge in the province for the over twenty years and has assisted many Albertan athletes to progress from the provincial level of the sport to join Canada's National and Olympic Luge teams
History
The Alberta Luge Association ("ALA") was incorporated under the Societies Act of the Province of Alberta on January 21, 1983. Since then ALA has operated as a non-profit provincial sports association promoting the development of Luge training and competition in the province of Alberta.
ALA is recognized as the official provincial sports organization responsible for the governance of Luge by the Canadian Luge Association ("CLA"). CLA sanctions, monitors and assists all competitive Luge programs held in Canada. CLA is recognized as the official representative of Luge in Canada by national and international groups such as the International Luge Federation
ALA currently hosts 2 Provincial Cup races and a Provincial Championships, as well as co-hosts the Luge World Cup and Junior Luge World Cup annually.
Mission
The Alberta Luge Association exists to ensure the continued successful growth of the sport of Luge in Alberta through the development of its athletes, coaches and volunteers at the recreational and elite levels.
