2012 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships Live
The
2012 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships are set for Feb.
9-12 at the Colorado Springs World Arena in Colorado Springs,
Colorado. Now in its 14th year, the event is sanctioned by the
International Skating Union (ISU) and features skaters from the
Americas, Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
To date, the field is highlighted by
Daisuke Takahashi, Japan – Defending Four Continents champion
Patrick Chan, Canada - 2011 World champion, lives and trains HERE in Colorado Springs
Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Canada – Reigning Olympic ice dancing champions
Mao Asada, Japan – 2012 Japanese champion
Cynthia Phaneuf – 2012 Canadian champion
Wenjing Sui and Cong Han, China – two-time World Junior champions
Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford, Canada – 2012 Canadian champions

Team USA’s entries were determined Jan. 29, 2012, at the conclusion of the 2012 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships. The following skaters have been named to the US Team for Four Continents:
Skaters will compete in the disciplines of ladies singles, men’s singles, pair skating, and ice dancing for the title of Four Continents Champion. The four continents of the event’s name refer to the Americas (North, South and Central), Asia, Africa, and Oceania.
These events will be open to figure skaters from non European countries who reach the age of 15 by July 1, 2011.
The Four Continents Figure Skating Championships is an annual skating competition. The ISU established it in the year of1999 to provide figure skaters representing non European states with a similar competition to the much older European Figure Skating Championships.
